Angie Birt - Studio Director/Senior Teacher 

- Angie is a professor in the psychology department at Mount Saint Vincent University. She discovered Ashtanga when she was looking for a way to reduce stress while completing her Ph.D. Since then, this incredibly dynamic, invigorating and healing practice for the mind, body, and spirit has captivated her. Angie has been a devoted student of Ashtanga since 1998 and has trained with senior teachers from Canada and the US, most notably Darby and Hart Lazer. She has also traveled to Mysore, India to study with the late Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath. Angie’s approach to teaching involves challenging students with the flow of the Ashtanga practice, while also incorporating principles of alignment, body awareness, mindfulness and humour. She strives to make this method accessible to everyone, so individuals at all levels can experience the powerful benefits of the practice.
